Barclay Braden, Ph.D. -- Coordinator
A clinical psychologist, with a long-held fascination for
those factors optimizing human potential, Barclay traces
her curiousity to undergraduate explorations at Stanford
University that persisited through graduate study at NYU
and teaching experience in NYC where she lived for 17
years. Her doctoral research conducted at the Derner
Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi
University, explored the role of having a Dream for the
future as a configuring influence in who we become.
Before moving to the Ocala area, she resided for twenty
years in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, where
she worked in community mental health and private
practice as a psychotherapist focusing on adult
development -- with a special interest in the convergence
of psychological and spiritual awareness.
Barclay endorses the contemplative practice of journal
keeping. Fifteen years ago she discovered a powerful
self-inquiry tool -- writing with the non-dominant hand to
commune with differenrt aspects of consciousness.
Convinced that our individual growth can continue as a
lifelong process, she finds self-exploratory writing can
foster ongoing learning, while bringing us to a place of
stillness from which new perspectives can emerge.
After two decades of Noetic inspiration from her IONS
membership, Barclay was delighted to assume a
leadership role as coordinator of the Ocala IONS
community group. She looks forward to the challenge of
facilitating development of personal awareness toward a
shift in global consciousness.
And she invites all to join her.
