Nancy D. Storch Marriage & Family Therapist

Originally hailing from upstate (Elmira) New York, I
moved to Florida after college. I did not miss the
depressing, grey, cloudy skies of home. I did miss my
relatives and friends.
With husband and young son, Tampa became home
and the beginning of my 18 year business career.
The beautiful water and sand took hold. When my son
and I relocated to beautiful Virginia, we chose to
return here within a year and a half. To live without
the heat and sunshine of Florida was hard. Chris
needed to know his dad to have a relationship. By
accepting a transfer to some place called Ocala, we
arrived in 1979 and rooted.
This little town became a very grounding and sacred
space for both my son and myself to grow. We found
wonderful friends. One of which brought me to early
SOM study groups and classes. Chris found a future
wife (actually two) here. I did my share of Sunday
School and Youth Group work. ( My son tried to
avoid me in any group that I might volunteer with, of
course.) During this time period I became involved in
and organized the Teen Sexuality Conferences
that I still run. I also began to study, first Christian
counseling, then Marriage and Family Therapy at
Stetson University in Deland, FL.
My business work had served me well and ended. I
had an MFT degree, took 6 months off (drove up
North only to return South for my son’s graduation
celebration from Georgia Tech in the Fall of 1991),
and began a new job still in Ocala. For 20 years I had
desired a job that allowed me to “help people.” Well
I found it!!! I have been a therapist ever since.
I enjoy my practice – individual, family, couples,
pre-marital, and trauma work.

My favorite things:
Visiting the cabin in Troy, PA in fresh air and green
scenery.
Playing with my 7 year old granddaughter, Sarah.
Petting my cat Squeaks.
Reading, swimming, planting flowers.
Writing about Sarah or life or metaphysical ideas.
What matters to me:
That I am congruent, my inside parallels my outside.
That I have enough downtime to refuel and nurture
myself.
That I continue to study metaphysical ideas.
That I meditate and affirm a world of peace and love.
That I seek and find beauty (truth, goodness) around me.
What practice do I follow:
I am grateful every day! ( including for such a cushie life!)
I breathe in and out.
I drum affirmations to music daily.
I look for unusual examples of the life force.
I trust my vision when I “see” things.
What I believe in:
The Universe supports me.
It is all good.
Appearances can be deceiving and it is still good.
Thought manifests.
There is one mind, that mind is God, that mind is my
mind now.
